Noble son of Siracusa, scientist, inventor and mathematician, brought great prestige to our town. His name has always been linked to meditation and science.
Everything started from the purchase of this vineyard, an old “Alberello impupato” tree of Nero d’Avola, on calcareous soil slightly exposed to the South, with a density of 7,000 vines / ha. In the vineyard there are many varieties of fruit trees, from pomegranate trees to the apricot trees and a large palm tree, which used to indicate the presence of a well. The deep roots of these vines over seventy years of age, dig underground and confer concentration and richness of salty and mineral elements, giving this wine considerable breadth, with elegant facets that clearly distinguish it from all the other wines we produce. It is vinified in steel tanks and it matures for one year in spherical concrete tanks before continuing a long refinement in the bottle. Wine of character and personality.

For this wine we wanted to keep the image of our most historic label inspired by an ancient depiction of Archimedes. The Thinker Archimedes, as well as being a tribute to the most important historical character of the province of Siracusa, wants to depict the importance of the man in a territory, we must always reflect, because in every gesture the human action determines its future.

Spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks, long maceration of the must with the skins.

Maturation
44 months in total between maturation in spherical cement  tanks and refinement in the bottle.
